Personalised playlists launched!
March 7th, 2008
We have now launched what has been one of the most-requested features for idiomag - a personalised mp3 player to accompany the magazine. You will now receive a playlist of suggested tracks, based on the selection of articles that you are reading.
Previously, relevant music was targeted to each article, but there were few playback controls. This independent player now allows you to have complete control whilst reading the magazine, with integrated click-to-buy links, and optional intelligent-skip functionality: to fast forward the playlist to the relevant track when the page is turned.
Hope you like it as much as we do. Please let us know how we can improve it - and it goes without saying that we will be increasing coverage of artists and improving the quality of selected tracks over the next month or so.

Love having the player with the magazine! I was just wondering if there were any developments coming up of having events listed within the magazine? Maybe a little overlay similar to the links to the artist’s home page on the last page of each section?
Thanks!

How about an option to have the tracks on the mp3 player play randomly? It’s awesome otherwise and I love it.

Very nice
However, I was quite shocked when I heard “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” instead of “Fuck Forever” by Babyshambles, like the player said! Doesn’t exactly make me wanna share my magazine with my friends! (or does it?) Keep up the nice work!

@ Rotcivius - sounds good. we will have a look at doing that.
@morten - this is unfortunately an issue with Seeqpod’s naming system - which is where we get the tracks from. We are working to get a better solution for this. Sorry!
